It creates itineraries for your trips... all you have to do is forward your confirmation emails over to TripIt and it auto-generates your itinerary. This way all your frequent flyer and hotel reward numbers are readily available for you for each trip you're planning. The Kayak app also has similar functionality. Otherwise if you're just looking for something simple to keep your account numbers, you can try any password keeper type application, such as OISafe.
